Shimla, August 8
The Animal Husbandry Department has constituted a task force to ensure timely treatment and vaccination of cattle in the areas affected by lumpy skin disease. The infection has claimed 40 head of cattle in the state so far. As many as 590 animals have been affected by the virus in Shimla, Solan, Sirmaur and areas of Una and Kangra districts bordering Punjab.
Director of Animal Husbandry Pradeep Sharma said the deputy directors in every district had been directed to ensure timely treatment and vaccination of cattle in virus affected areas.
